May I have the attention of the class?
There we go.
Labor Day Weekend is the unofficial end of the summer season, and while most will be at BBQs and various other outdoor get-togethers, Electric Zoo will once again take over Randall's Island.
The three-day party brings an always impressive roster providing a weekend full of the beats, bass, and groove; from Electro to Trance and Techno, and everything in between that any Electronic Music lover could need. With a little something for everyone, if you’re not two-stepping on the Island this Labor Day Weekend, will you even be having a good time?
Perhaps the most anticipated stage, in my opinion, belongs to beloved Sunday School. On Friday and Saturday, New York City welcomes, for the first time in the United States, a line-up curated by the world-renowned, Dutch Techno paradise: Awakenings Festival. For those unfamiliar with Awakenings…get it together. Awakenings takes place every year outside of Amsterdam in Holland, and easily boasts the reputation as the premiere Techno event of, arguably, the entire world. In September, the crème-de-la-crème of Techno and Tech House will baptize us in such sweet bass that maybe the FOMO of missing the real Awakenings Festival will hurt just a little less.
All of the talent at this stage should be on your agenda; it’s like a little slice of Holland will be making itself at home in New York City. There's no easing into the glory that is Techno at EZOO. Friday brings Jennifer, Marco Bailey, Carlo Lio, Alan Fitzpatrick, The Martinez Brothers, and gets shut down (literally and probably figuratively) with the one and only Adam Beyer.
After crawling out of bed on Saturday, our ears will experience the groove of Vanjee b2b Nadav Vee, Kolsch, Justin Jay, Henrik Schwarz (live), and Paco Osuna. We'll finish off the day with Get Real (Claude VonStroke and Green Velvet)...#getout.
Let me just thank Awakenings and invite them to visit us again ahead of time, because let's be serious...by the end of Saturday, the only thing I'll be able to say is, "I really can't even. That was amazing."
But wait, there's still one more day! ;) Sunday is a Pete Tong creation with him closing out his own stage. Earlier in the day you’ll have Julia Govor, Patrick Topping, Jonas Rathsman, Amine Edge & DANCE, and Hot Since 82...the most vibes to bring the weekend, and the summer, to a close.
*insert all of the fire emojis here*
Both weekend and single day passes are available HERE, with single day tickets starting at $79.00 and weekend passes at $239.99.
IMPORTANT: Don’t forget to get your ferry passes, or else you’ll be swimming across the East River from Manhattan to get to the Island!
TAKE NOTE(S): I did you a solid and crafted an epic playlist to (sort of) prepare you for the insanity that will be Sunday School at Electric Zoo. So sit down, study, take notes, and do whatever you gotta do to prepare for class.
See you out there, fellow students!
