Getting Ready to Bounce with Uberjakd on Saturday

Everyone is having a difficult time containing their excitement for seeing Uberjakd at Splash Fest 2 on Saturday. We had the opportunity of sitting down and doing a little twitter interview with Uberjakd last night. We talked about everything from music production, style choice, the birth of "Melbourne Bounce", to food. Here are a couple of highlights from the interview last night!

Splash Fest (East Side Entertainment): We would like to officially welcome Uberjakd! We are excited to have you with us for Splash Fest 2 on Saturday! So how did you get your start in music, and what made you choose "Melbourne Bounce?"

Uberjakd: Being a DJ from Australia, who lived in Adelaide, which is really close to Melbourne. I played some of my first gigs there, and fell in love with the sound. I wanted to have my own take on it. It is a sound which has really evolved over the past 2 years.

Splash Fest (East Side Entertainment):  Interesting. It has definitely found a home in the US! So who in your opinion were the pioneers of Bounce?

Uberjakd: I think OrkestratedKalus, and Dean Del made some of the first Melbourne tunes I heard, but Deorroreally opened peoples' ears as to how it can evolve with Dutch style leads combined with the bounce bass.

Splash Fest (East Side Entertainment): We can absolutely tell you love this music! Your knowledge is incredible! So if you could do a collaboration with one artist, who would it be and why?

Uberjakd: Rob Swire. I have been a Pendulum fan from day one. Before I got into dance music I was a monster DnB fan.

Splash Fest (East Side Entertainment):  Very cool! Have you thought about making any DnB in the near future?

Uberjakd: I have been working with different genres just for fun. I have some 122 deep stuff, and some trap. I'm not sure if I would put it out as Uberjakd though, maybe I will start another alias.

As you can tell from the interview, Uberjakd seems like a very down-to-earth kind of guy, with a ton of personality. I think it is safe to say he is very excited, and very enthusiastic about his set Saturday at Splash Fest 2! In preparation for Saturday, take a listen to his collaboration with bounce king, Will Sparks, entitled "Hard Nation". Is everyone ready to BOUNCE with Uberjakd?
