Hey Boy, Hey Girl, you ready to have the time of your life in less than one month? The Chemical Brothers set at Electric Zoo in September will hands down, be the most mind-blowing musical experience, EVER. How can I be so sure? Well, for one I have seen hundreds of artists in my life, many of which are on this STACKED LINEUP and although many of them were amazing, nothing can top a Chemical Brothers set. They are unparalleled in the dance music world, both musically and visually. Trust me, this is something you WILL NOT want to miss. There is no better way to close out the first day of EZOO than at the Mainstage rockin' out to some Chemical beats.
This brings me to a very special Friday night, five years ago, in the exact same place. To this day, there has not been a live music experience that has stood out to me more than The Chemical Brothers closing out the Mainstage at Electric Zoo 2010. It tops anything I've ever witnessed in any genre, at any festival, in any city. I'm sure the thousands of others who were there that day would agree with me.
This was right after their album Further was released, so all of the music on the album was still new to them and everyone in the crowd. The set was fresh and had a one-of-a-kind energy that I have yet to witness since. If you haven't checked out this album, do yourself a favor and do it now. This album is a top five for me. As a matter of fact, check them all out. Every single song of theirs is beautifully and masterfully crafted. They're the Beatles of Dance music. Yeah I went there... Now back to my experience.
Every song on the album has unique visuals that are synonymous with the song and are always shown live while the song is playing. Sort of like how Deadmau5 does things, except even better. The music and the visuals flow elegantly together in a psychedelic way creating a feeling of euphoria and ecstasy that sends chills down your spine. That's how I felt at that very moment...pure bliss!
Well five years later, we can expect the same from The Chemical Brothers. They just released their kick ass new album "Born In The Echoes". It is everything a Chemical Brothers fan has been waiting five years for. There isn't a song on the album that disappoints. Expect them to play almost every song from the album during their set next month.
Another thing that makes their appearance at Electric Zoo so special, is that prior to this years festival season they have not played in the U.S. since Ultra 2011. That's quite the gap. That being said, expect them to throw down hard for NYC!
So on Friday, September 4th I know where I'll be, and I hope you'll be there too, to share this special moment with me!
